Barcelona which is located at the mediterran sea in the north of spanish coast is the most vibrant and active city in Spain.Barcelona is the capital of a state called Catalonia and it has very own language called catalonian .

1.) Basilica de la Sagrada Familia


One of the biggest gothic church in Europe and truly a surreal one, La Sagrada Familia attracts 3 million visitors a year.Construction of the church began in 1882 by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí, who famously joked that his client, God, was in no hurry to see it finished.His words still remain true as 140 years later , the construction is still going and expected to be completed by 2026.

2.)La Rambla


Las Rambla street is the most famous walking street in Barcelona. La Rambla goes from Plaza Catalunya to the Port Vell harbour of Barcelona.Filled with flower shops, cafes,street artists and tourists this street has everything one could expect.It is right in the centre of the city and perfect place to spend your evening.The Spanish poet Federico García Lorca once said, “It is only street in the world, which I wish would never end.

3.)Mercat de la Boqueria


One of my favorite food markets in the world ,selling fresh fruit juices, olives, cheese ,meat ,seafood and some yummy Tapas this a must see.They say this market dates back to 12th century

4.Barri Gòtic {Gothic Quarter}


This is where the history of this city Barcelona began.The area is surrounded by labyrinthine “streets and alleys”.It is a Barcelona neighborhood suffused with so much history which comes to life when you go there.




The Montjuïc is a hill located near the center of Barcelona.It features a large number of attractions including the Spanish Village, the Magic Fountain , the Palau Nacional and Castell de Montjuïc.


6.)Casa Batllo


The colorful Casa Batlló is a nineteenth century building and one of Gaudí’s many masterpieces in Barcelona.From the outside the façade of Casa Batlló looks like it has been made from skulls and bones. The “Skulls” are in fact balconies and the “bones” are supporting pillars.

7.)Parlament de Catalunya


The Catalan Parliament, which is located in Barcelona is another building with beautiful architecture .The current parliament sits in this building .

8.) Barcelonate beach


It may be the most dirtiest, crowded but it certainly is the most entertaining beach in Barcelona. The city has many beaches but this one is my favorite .

9.)Casa Mila


Casa Milà which is commonly known as La Pedrera is one of the largest building designed by Antoni Gaudí.This was also made in 19th century for a business man named Pedro Mila. The outside of the building looks like a Cliff like rock with caves.

10.)Arc de Triomf


The Arc de Triomf is a triumphal arch built in Mudejar style .Mudejar is related to Iberian architecture .

11.)Torre Agbar


With its unothordox shape this is one of the tallest buildings in Barcelona

12.)Port Vell


For me this is a great place to be near sunset where you can sit, drink , eat or cycle around the beautiful port.Some of the locals specially the spanish youth like to spend their evenings here.

14.)Parc Guell


This is another example of Goudi’s Architecture.Set In the hills this park overlooks the entire city of Barcelona. Parc Güell is one of the world’s most intriguing parks and is a UNESCO heritage site.It has the famous Lizard fountain at its entrance.The colorful park is good place to have your morning or evening walks.

15.)Barcelona Cathedral


The Barcelona Cathedral also known as “La Seu Cathedral ”sits right in the centre of the barri Gotic {Gothic Quarter}.Built in the 12th century, the church is named after saint Eulalia. Be sure to look for the cloister which has its own little secret where these White Geese are always there making their loud sounds to warn against the Intruders.
