The word Coolie in India means people who carry your luggage from the train or bus station to your car and vice versa.However, this was neither a bus station nor a railway station.Amused I asked him “kaunsa Coolie”.He said I will take you to the best shops and get you amazing deals and carry all your stuff.I thought of him more like a guide and hired him.He showed me the market and told me tales about it.We went to the best shops and got the best deals.The market has everything from cosmetics, jewelry, clothes, dry fruits, shoes, bags etc.It also has a section for fish, meat, and poultry.By the end of it, i bought stuff more than I planned and had to say goodbye to Shamshudin who by now was already my Facebook friend.

Shila Ghosh The 86-year-old superwoman who earns her living by selling chips on the streets of Calcutta.I haven’t heard of this name until I met the lady in person in a bus ride.On my bus journey I saw a lot of people coming and talking to her and it was then the conductor told me about her story.
Her life changed in 2010 when she lost her son.Her grandson was jobless and daughter in law was a kidney patient.Once again she took the reins of her family in her hands and decided to work.She started making chips at her home and sold it on one of the street crossings in Calcutta. She ha been in limelight since then and has created an example for all that there is no age limit to retire.
I finally spoke to her and asked her why is she working till now
She said ”In the Gita, it is written, Work is life. Do your work, never think of the result. This has been my source of mental strength.” and she smiled.I touched her feet, took her blessings and helped her get down the bus.
